Good morning. I have been making quite a bit of progress on my UFO basket. So far I have Completed two wallhanging tops and a table runner and a table topper. Today I am going to concentrate on getting the Christmas stuff put away and out of my room with my quilting machine in it. It's a little slow going because of my surgery. I'm can't lift over 20 lbs. So I do what I can and the DH comes home from work and carries it all up to the attic. This is no small feat because we have 9 trees. As soon as I get the wallhangings quilted I'll post pictures. My next two projects are a Thimbleberries quilt kit my DH gave my 3 years ago and a pop-up scrap sack kit I bought at lancaster AQS this year.
I have also been running my embroidery machine while I have been sewing. I have been making my oldest daughter( she'll be 30 on 1/8) a new tree skirt. It is all carousel animals, zebras, horses, elephants ect. She is my non traditional one. my youngest daughter (25) is more traditional .

Well Christmas is over. I hope everyone had a wonderful and joyous holiday. Mine was very quiet. I just had surgery on the 16th and DH and I decided to keep things simple this year. The new year is fast approaching. I spend today cleaning the sewing room. I am going to start on my UFO basket tomorrow. Since I have 6 weeks off from work I ought to make the most of it. I'll post as I finish my projects.

Well Christmas is fast aproaching. Can you believe it is only 3 more days befrore Christmas. Are you all done? I am. I really didn't have much choose as I just had a major surgery done on Thursday. So all of my shopping and crafting got done ahead of time this year. No frantic Christmas eve sewing. I also decided this year there would be absolutely no credit cards. I have been working very hard to get rid of those. It is very tempting to get carried away at the holidays. Buying stuff for those you love. This year I made most of my gifts. I am quite pleased with them too. I have also found that this year is a whole lot more peaceful. I have found a lot more time to relax and to really enjoy the meaning of the season. It's amazing how much extra stuff we take on because we think we have to. Have a wonderful and safe Christmas.

I can't believe how fast this year has gone by. I have been soooo busy that I really haven't had any time to post anything. My youngest daughter gets married next Saturday. Can't wait to have a son in law. They are just the cutest couple. But I will be glad when all of the drama is over. You know all the little things that keep cropping up. Hopefully I'll be able to get some sewing done soon.

Got back from the Lancaster quilt show yesterday. Boy am I tired. Four days of intense shopping, eating, and sightseeing. Mom bought me an accuquilt go for my birthday. Can't wait to try it out.
This was my first AQS show. It was fabulous. The people who run this show couldn't have been nicer and the hotel was wonderful. We stayed right at the Marriot and let me tell you a full service hotel is the way to go.

Just got back from bus trip with the guild. Got some great new fabrics at some really good prices. As soon as I get some of my projects done I'll post them.

Over the weekend I had two pieces entered in the Garden Patch quilt show at Wheaton Village. My quilt didn't place but my jacket took first.

It holds my glasses and (as my kids call it )

My old lady glasses chain.

Today I made myself a new eyeglass case. I think it turned out pretty well considering I didn't have a pattern

I'm quite new to blogging so I hope I'm doing this right. I would really like to hear from anyone else who loves to sew and quilt.
